MARDI GRAS INDIANS PARADE

New Orleans is overflowing with history and cultural appreciation. Many of the roughly 38 Mardi Gras Indian tribes participate in the Mardi Gras Indians parade, where they collectively storm the streets of Uptown and Downtown New Orleans on St. Joseph’s Day (also known as “Super Sunday”), decked out in the elaborately ornate ceremonial dress of the Native Americans.  A beautiful and festive annual event, it is an experience to be taken in and a sight not to be taken for granted.
